CorePower Yoga opened its second Miami studio on Monday, Oct. 19, setting up inside The Shops at Midtown Miami on North Miami Avenue, between Wynwood and the Design District. The company announced the opening the same day, along with a second, larger studio planned for Coral Gables shortly after.
Until now, the company had a single South Florida location, in Brickell, which opened in 2022. With Midtown open and Coral Gables on deck, the Miami area goes from one studio to three.
Inside the Midtown studio
The Midtown studio has two practice rooms heated with infrared panels, locker rooms with two showers apiece and three restrooms, according to the company's announcement. The studio page adds hair dryers, lockers and cubbies, free water fountains, and mats and towels for rent, plus weights, blocks and straps for class.
To find it, the company says to look for the colorful acrylic art installation near Nordstrom Rack and the playground in the shopping center. Street parking is available, and there is a garage nearby on NE 32nd and 34th streets.
What classes are on the schedule
Both new studios will run CorePower's full lineup. That includes Yoga Sculpt, a heated class that mixes yoga with cardio and handweight strength moves; CorePower Strength X, a 45-minute interval-style class pairing functional strength work with breathwork; C1, a foundational vinyasa flow for people learning the core poses; C2, a heated power vinyasa aimed at strength, endurance and flexibility; and Hot Power Fusion, which blends hot yoga and power yoga in high heat.
The company says it is also planning special opening programming for the neighborhood, though it has not posted specific dates for those events.
Opening offers
The Midtown studio page lists three ways in for new students. The first is a free week of unlimited classes, with no credit card required. The second is an Intro Month membership at $109 for the first month, after which the All Access Membership runs $199 a month. The third, offered only at new studios, is a Founding All Access Membership at $149.25 a month, which is 25% off the regular dues every month, not just the first.
The founding membership is good at CorePower studios nationwide and includes live and on-demand virtual classes, monthly buddy passes and retail discounts, according to the company. For drop-ins, a single studio class is $35, and class packs start at five classes for $169.
Coral Gables is next
The second new studio will sit on the second floor of The Plaza Coral Gables, at 2811 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, on the level the development calls fitness row. The company describes it as a flagship with two practice rooms that together hold more than 70 mats, high ceilings looking over the plaza's open-air courtyard, a communal lobby and a retail area. Its studio page places it next to [solidcore] and above the Apple store, with 90 minutes of validated parking in the Plaza garage off Palermo Avenue.
CorePower has not given an exact opening date for Coral Gables, saying only that it will follow Midtown soon. The free week offer is not yet available for that studio on the company's website.
CorePower, which describes itself as the largest yoga studio brand in the country, says it now runs more than 220 studios across 23 states and Washington, D.C.
