Deerfield Beach is bringing back All That Jazz, and this time it is more than one night. The free concert on Friday, Nov. 20, is the first of a series of live jazz evenings the city plans to stage in different parts of Deerfield Beach this season.

The opener is at Villages of Hillsboro, 4111 NW Sixth St., starting at 7 p.m., with The Jazz Collective playing live outdoors.

How the night works

It is an outdoor, bring-your-own-seat evening. The city is asking people to bring lawn chairs or blankets and settle in on the grass for the music.

Dinner is up to you. Pack a picnic, or buy something from the food truck the city is bringing in for the night.

Admission is free, and there is nothing to register for. The city's Parks and Recreation special events team is putting on the series, and it is pitched as a night out for friends and families together.

A series, not a one-off

The Nov. 20 show is described by the city as the start of a run of jazz nights in neighborhoods around Deerfield Beach rather than a single annual concert. The city has not yet posted the later dates or venues. They will appear on its All That Jazz page as they are set, so anyone who misses the opener, or wants the next one closer to home, can check there.

More free nights out in Deerfield Beach

The jazz series joins the city's other free evening events this fall, including its Movies in the Park screenings.
