The Fort Lauderdale Turkey Trot reaches its 15th year on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, with a 7:30 a.m. start on the beach at 3000 E. Las Olas Blvd. The 5K runs along A1A with the ocean on one side and the sun coming up over it, and it is open to runners, walkers and anyone who would rather stroll the distance.

Registration is open now on the race's RunSignup page at $55. That price holds through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, after which it goes up. The race has not posted the new price.

A Broward Thanksgiving habit

The organizers say the trot draws more than 3,000 runners, walkers and, in their word for it, wobblers each year, and they pitch it as a family morning: kids of every age are welcome alongside parents, friends and coworkers. Costumes are part of the tradition. The race invites entrants to show up dressed as a Thanksgiving side dish.

The start is at 3000 E. Las Olas Blvd., Las Olas Oceanside Park, where Las Olas Boulevard meets the beach.

What the entry gets you

  • A shirt and a bib, guaranteed for the first 3,800 people who register. The shirt is a commemorative dri-fit.
  • A finisher medal, guaranteed for the first 3,800 people across the finish line.
  • Official timing by Split Second Timing, which the race lists as its timing partner.

The 3,800 cap on shirts and medals is the number to watch. With more than 3,000 people turning out in a typical year, late registrants risk running without either.

Two races, one price

The race also sells a combination entry with the Fort Lauderdale Jingle Bell Jog for $90. That bundle carries the same Oct. 26 price deadline as the single Turkey Trot entry.

Who the miles help

The Fort Lauderdale Turkey Trot benefits two local organizations: the Leadership Broward Foundation and the Broward Health Foundation. Its title sponsor is the Heart and Vascular Institute of Memorial Healthcare System, which the race's own site credits at the top of its sponsor list. The race site also lists Galleria Fort Lauderdale as its packet pickup partner.
