The theater John Volk built on Royal Poinciana Way in 1958 has a season that reads like a national tour schedule. Glazer Hall, the waterfront performing arts center inside the old Royal Poinciana Playhouse, has posted its 2026-27 calendar, and over the next nine weeks alone it brings Garrison Keillor, Emanuel Ax, Tony Danza, Kenny G, John Mulaney and Chelsea Handler to a 400-seat room on the island.

The next big night is Wednesday, October 21, when Keillor and his niece, the comedian Erica Rhodes, take the stage together.

The building is the story

According to Glazer Hall's own history, Volk, the architect who also designed the neighboring Royal Poinciana Plaza, created the playhouse, which opened on February 3, 1958. The Town of Palm Beach landmarked his design in 2008.

Glazer Hall is the building's second act, brought back by Jill and Avie Glazer through a nonprofit, the Palm Beach Cultural Innovation Center. The reworked space at 70 Royal Poinciana Way, Suite P70, covers 24,000 square feet and has 400 retractable seats, a 40-foot movie screen, and a back wall of glass looking straight out over the Intracoastal, as described on the venue's site. Retractable seating means the same room can be a concert hall one night and an open floor the next, which is how a single venue can book a pianist, a stand-up and a family movie in the same week.

October: a radio legend and a piano great

Garrison Keillor and Erica Rhodes, Oct. 21. The show is called The Crazy Uncle and his Sensible Niece, and the title is literal. Keillor created and hosted A Prairie Home Companion for more than four decades, building the fictional town of Lake Wobegon, before the show ended in 2016. Rhodes joined that show at age 10 as its youngest regular and often played his sensible niece in the sketches; in real life, Keillor is married to her aunt. She has since done stand-up and television, with credits that include Modern Family and Veep. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 7, and tickets run $95 to $110.

Emanuel Ax, Oct. 23. Two nights later, one of the best known concert pianists alive plays the same room, with tickets listed at $175 to $225.

The month closes with bassist Christian McBride and his band Ursa Major on October 30.

November: Sabrina, Rocky and the ballet

November is where the calendar gets playful. Tony Danza brings a Sinatra-and-stories show on November 14. The next day, November 15, Melissa Joan Hart leads a 30th anniversary reunion of the Sabrina the Teenage Witch cast, with tickets at $110 to $125. On November 19, Rocky Live in Concert marks the film's 50th anniversary, and on November 21 Miami City Ballet brings a program called American Odyssey across the bridge.

December: the headliners

The holiday stretch is the heaviest. Matteo Bocelli plays December 8. Kenny G brings his holiday and hits tour on December 10, at $225. John Mulaney does two shows on December 12, at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m., with tickets at $275 to $325. Chelsea Handler follows on December 16, at $195 to $225.

Those are big-arena names. Seeing any of them in a 400-seat room with the Intracoastal behind the stage is a different evening from seeing them across a basketball floor.

And the movies

The 40-foot screen gets steady use, too. The schedule mixes in family films, including Happy Feet on October 25, The Wizard of Oz on November 29 and Elf on December 20, so the building is not only for the black-tie crowd.

What to know before you go

Glazer Hall sits inside the Royal Poinciana Plaza complex, so dinner and the show can be one parking spot. Members get early access on some nights, as with the Keillor show, which opens to members at 6 p.m. Full listings, prices and tickets for every date are on the Glazer Hall calendar, which runs well into 2027.

A landmarked 1958 playhouse with the stars back on its stage is about as Palm Beach as a night out gets. This season's lineup makes a strong case for crossing the bridge.
