The golf course at The Boca Raton, closed since April 7, is projected to reopen in late fall 2026 under a new name, The Golf Club. The resort hired golf architect Brian Silva to lead the work, and Discover The Palm Beaches, the county's tourism office, puts the cost of the project at $25 million.

The course sits on the Harborside side of the resort in Boca Raton. Its original architect was Donald Ross, and the resort dates the course's roots to 1926. The rebuilt layout plays to par 70 at 5,888 yards over 18 holes.

What changed on the course

Silva's work centers on restoring the angles, contours and ground-game options that defined Ross and other designers of golf's Golden Age, the period between the world wars when many of the country's classic courses were laid out. The resort describes the plan as bringing back the strategic elements, natural contours and traditional playing characteristics of the Ross design while adding modern construction underneath.

According to the county tourism office, the project includes 53 rebuilt bunkers, a fully modern irrigation system and a new practice facility. Silva has won multiple Golf Digest Renovation of the Year honors, according to the resort, for his work on Golden Age courses.

The course also sits inside an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, a certification program for golf courses that manage their grounds for wildlife habitat and water quality.

Two new places to eat

The reopening brings two food stops that did not exist before. Greg's on the Green is a restaurant with a covered outdoor terrace overlooking the fairways, built for food and drinks before and after a round. Greg's Grab & Go is a refurbished vintage Airstream trailer parked near the third hole. In the morning it serves breakfast bites, fresh bagels and pastries, and in the afternoon it switches to an all-day menu of snacks.

The range and the shop

The driving range runs on Trackman Range technology, with monitors at each hitting station that show ball speed, distance and other numbers on every shot, plus digital games. The range and short game area closed on July 6 for the duration of the project. The resort lists golf clinics and private lessons as coming soon, along with range competitions and challenges against the club's professionals.

The Sports Shop, which sells golf, sport and resort clothing and golf technology, stays open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Next on the resort's calendar

In January the resort hosts Artisans of Wine & Food, which the county tourism office says will bring more than 100 Napa Valley wineries, European wineries for the first time and more than 20 chefs to the property from Jan. 14 to 17, 2027.

Who can play

The Golf Club is open to club members and hotel guests, not to the public. The driving range is open to members and hotel guests during their stay and is included in the resort fee. The resort has not yet posted hours or green fees for the reopened course; both are listed as coming soon. Tee times and questions go to [email protected] or (877) 567-3248.
