NVN Marine, an online seller of boat electronics, now has a storefront, and it chose Fort Lauderdale's Marine Mile for it. The company's first physical store is open at 11 W State Road 84, in the corridor along State Road 84 known as Marine Mile.

The company announced the opening on its own site on Oct. 14, with an Oct. 1 dateline, and followed with a wire release on Oct. 15. Until now, NVN Marine has sold online and run its business from an office in New York that does not take walk-in customers.

What is in the store

The showroom covers about 3,000 square feet. Its purpose, according to the company, is to let boaters handle equipment before they buy and install it, instead of choosing a chartplotter or a fishfinder from a product page.

The demo floor includes chartplotters, fishfinders, radar, autopilots, trolling motors and marine audio. The brands on display include Raymarine, Simrad, B&G, Garmin, Lowrance, Humminbird and Minn Kota.

The store also works as a pickup counter for the company's online catalog, which NVN Marine puts at more than 50,000 products. Orders placed on the website can be collected in person on SR 84 instead of shipped.

Staff on site hold ABYC and NMEA certifications, the company says. ABYC is the American Boat and Yacht Council and NMEA is the National Marine Electronics Association; both certify marine technicians.

Why Marine Mile

NVN Marine says it looked at more than 20 locations before settling on this one, and that it picked Marine Mile for its closeness to marinas, boatyards and the Intracoastal Waterway.

The company plans to add sales and product specialist staff in Fort Lauderdale over the coming months, its first local hiring.

Beyond the electronics

The store also stocks fishing and deck gear, including Cannon downriggers and TACO Marine outriggers and hardware, and power and safety equipment from Xantrex, Newmar and Lewmar. The company says it sells only new products carrying full manufacturer warranties, and online orders placed before 3 p.m. ship the same day.

The staff advice covers boat networking, DC and AC electrical work and power systems, according to the company, and the founder, Ugur Yavuz, describes the counter as a place to bring wiring questions as well as shopping lists. NVN Marine says it was founded in 2020 and has sold to boaters around the country through its website and online marketplaces.

Timed to the boat show

NVN Marine notes that the store opened just ahead of the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which runs Oct. 28 through Nov. 1, and says boaters in town for the show are welcome to stop in. The company cites an estimate from the Marine Industries Association of South Florida that the region's marine industry produced .5 billion in economic output across Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties in 2022.
