Plantation has a new place to get a toasted sandwich. Potbelly, the sandwich chain, opened a shop at Plantation Pointe on Tuesday, Oct. 27, its second in Southeast Florida after a Davie location that opened in April.

Plantation Pointe is the 77-acre mixed-use development near University Drive and Sunrise Boulevard. The new shop is open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The grand opening

The official celebration comes a little over a week later, on Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. It includes a ribbon cutting and a Potbelly Perks Plinko game with merchandise, free food and other prizes on the board.

The first 50 guests in line that morning receive free Potbelly for a year.

What is on the menu

Potbelly is known for oven-toasted sandwiches and wraps. The menu also has salads, hand-dipped shakes and cookies. Guests can eat in, order ahead through Potbelly.com or the Potbelly app, book catering or order through delivery apps. Members of the free Potbelly Perks rewards program earn free sandwiches, cookies and other offers.

Who is behind it

The shop is run by franchisee PB Florida Holdings, led by Rami Boaziz, chief executive of Stellar Hospitality. Plantation is his second Potbelly, and the company says he is leading the brand's growth across Broward County.
