Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is adding a Latin American food and wine festival to its calendar. Sabores de las Américas takes over the resort's Hollywood Tower Pool on Saturday, Nov. 14, starting at 7:30 p.m., with restaurants from across South Florida cooking dishes from six countries, the resort announced.
Tickets are $100 and cover unlimited food and drinks plus live entertainment. The event is for guests 21 and older, and the resort says part of the ticket sales will go to a local charity.
Who is cooking, by country
The resort grouped its participating restaurants by the country whose food they will serve:
- Cuba: Sergio's, Vicky Bakery, Sala'o Cuban Restaurant & Bar, Old's Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina, El Cuban Diner and Ciao Havana Steakhouse.
- Brazil: MTB Top Burgers.
- Dominican Republic: El Tiesto Café.
- Mexico: street tacos from Seminole Classic Casino.
- Peru: Bravo Peruvian Kitchen.
- Venezuela: El Punto Gourmet.
The resort's own Abiaka, its wood-fired grill restaurant, is also on the lineup, along with the winner of Florida International University's Pig Roast Series and Florida Dairy Farmers. The resort says more participants will be added.
What is being poured
The drinks list leans on the same part of the world. Beverage partners include San Matías Tequila from Mexico, Diplomático Rum from Venezuela, Foley Family Wines from Argentina, Concha y Toro wines from Chile, and Bacardi.
Why the lineup looks the way it does
The resort says the night is meant to put the spotlight on local restaurants and the small businesses behind them, and to reflect the Latin communities that make up much of South Florida. Its president, Randy Morton, said the festival gives guests a way to meet the people behind restaurants they already know and to find new ones. The resort's vice president of food and beverage, Pablo Astardjian, said the focus is on dishes that carry the tastes of the cooks' home countries.
The event adds to the resort's existing Latin-focused food and entertainment programming.
Where it is and how to go

Its amenities also include an 18-acre water recreation area and more than 20 restaurants and bars.
