Sully Erna, the founder and frontman of Godsmack, is staging a one-night benefit concert at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood on Thursday, Dec. 10, and he is not coming alone. The Scars Foundation Celebrity Jam will put Godsmack on the stage with David Draiman of Disturbed, Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, and members of Staind and Three Days Grace, with more artists and guests still to be announced. The show starts at 8 p.m. at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, and tickets went on sale to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 13, starting at $156.
The money goes to The Scars Foundation, the nonprofit project Erna founded around mental health. Proceeds from the night will support its work on reducing the stigma around mental illness, preventing suicide and addressing addiction, along with its broader push to get people who are struggling to ask for help.
A lineup built for one night
The foundation describes the concert as a one-night-only event, and the format is a jam rather than a string of separate sets: Godsmack leads, and the guest musicians join for collaborations built around the foundation's Music Heals theme. That means the evening is the only scheduled chance to see this particular combination of players share a stage in South Florida.
The names on the bill cover several corners of hard rock. Draiman fronts Disturbed. Bettencourt is the guitarist of Extreme. Whitford is a guitarist with Aerosmith. Staind and Three Days Grace are each sending members, though the announcement does not yet say which ones. The foundation and the resort both say more performers will be added before Dec. 10, so the final lineup will be larger than what has been released so far.
In announcing the show, Erna explained that he started the foundation after losing a number of friends and fellow musicians to addiction and suicide, and that he sees music as a place where people in pain can feel understood. The concert is his way of putting that idea in front of a full arena.
What The Scars Foundation does
The Scars Foundation is built on the idea that everyone carries scars from life, and that those scars show up as anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal thoughts and PTSD. Its mission is to give people resources and encouragement to talk openly about those experiences, which it promotes under the #ShowYourScars banner. The foundation says donations go to programs with a proven record of addressing mental health issues.
The organization is a fiscally sponsored project of the Edward Charles Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit. Before this concert, it ran a golf fundraiser, the Smack This! Scramble, and set up wellness lounges at rock festivals produced by Danny Wimmer Presents. Erna has also written about his own path to music in his memoir, The Paths We Choose.
The room
Hard Rock Live is the 7,000-seat indoor arena at the Seminole Hard Rock resort, a facility the resort puts at more than $125 million. It uses clamshell-style seating meant to keep even a full house close to the stage, and in 2025 it was named Casino/Resort Venue of the Year at the Pollstar Awards. Acts that have played the room include the Rolling Stones, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Pearl Jam and Billy Joel.
The resort itself sits on 87 acres of the Hollywood Seminole Reservation along State Road 7 (U.S. 441), and is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. It is the home of the Guitar Hotel, the 450-foot tower designed to look like two guitars set back to back.
If you or someone you know is struggling
The concert is about getting people to reach out, so it is worth knowing where to start. Anyone in the United States can call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, at any hour for free, confidential support. The Scars Foundation also keeps a help and resources page on its website.
