The Maltz Jupiter Theatre raises the curtain on its 2026/27 MainStage season next Tuesday, Oct. 27, with Lyle Kessler's Orphans, and the days before it are full in Jupiter: a jazz singer back after two sellouts, a sunrise climb up the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, yoga at the base of the same tower, a Saturday night for the town's middle schoolers and a free Sunday market on the Harbourside waterfront. Here is what is happening from Oct. 20 to 27.
Friday: Mikayla Smith returns to the Island Theatre
Mikayla Smith comes back to the Maltz's smaller Island Theatre on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. with Love, Dreams, and Me, after two earlier performances that the theater says sold out. Smith's repertoire comes from jazz and the Great American Songbook, and for this show she is backed by The King's Academy Jazz Band. The program mixes standards with new arrangements and a few surprises.
Tickets are sold through the Maltz website and the box office at 561-575-2223. The theater is at 1001 E. Indiantown Road.
Saturday at dawn: the lighthouse sunrise tour
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum opens the tower early on Saturday, Oct. 24, for its Sunrise Tour, which runs from 6:45 to 8 a.m. The point of the tour is the view: climbing to the top of the lighthouse in time to watch the sun come up over the Atlantic and the inlet. Registration is through the museum's online calendar.
The museum also runs Twilight Yoga on the grounds on Monday, Oct. 26, from 7 to 8 p.m.. Sign-up is through the same calendar.
Saturday night: Teen Night at the Community Center
The Town of Jupiter's Teen Night gives 12- to 15-year-olds their own Saturday at the Jupiter Community Center, 200 Military Trail, on Oct. 24 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The night includes dinner, a food craft or group activity and dessert. The fee is $20 for Jupiter residents and $25 for nonresidents, and registration is on the town's website.
Parents planning ahead can also look at the town's next teen outing: a charter bus trip to see the Miami Heat play the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Kaseya Center on Sunday, Nov. 22, for ages 11 to 15. It costs $110 for residents and $138 for nonresidents, including the game ticket and the bus, and registration closes Nov. 15.
Sunday: The Market at Harbourside
Harbourside Place's Sunday market is in its first month of a season that started Oct. 4 and runs every Sunday through May 30, 2027. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., local makers and independent businesses set up along the waterfront at Dockside Circle selling handmade goods, baked goods, specialty foods, art, clothing, wellness products and home décor, and the lineup changes from week to week.
Before the stalls open, Breathe Salt Yoga leads a free class at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Harbourside amphitheater. Admission to the market is free, and parking is free for market guests. Harbourside Place is at 200 N. U.S. Highway 1.
Next Tuesday: Orphans opens the MainStage season
The Maltz's new MainStage season begins Tuesday, Oct. 27, with Orphans, Lyle Kessler's play about two orphaned brothers who kidnap a stranger, only for the plan to go wrong when their captive starts teaching them about trust and family. It runs through Nov. 8. The theater notes the production contains adult language and depictions of racial prejudice.
The rest of the season is already on the calendar: Ain't Misbehavin' (Dec. 1 to 13), La Cage aux Folles (Jan. 5 to 24), Wait Until Dark (Feb. 9 to 21) and Jesus Christ Superstar (March 9 to 28).
