A new festival that puts collector cars and high-end watches under one roof makes its debut in Wynwood on the weekend of Nov. 7 and 8. Time To Drive Fest fills Mana Wynwood Convention Center with more than 200 cars and more than 50 watch brands, and its organizers describe it as the first festival built at the intersection of fine watchmaking and car culture.

The main festival runs Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. both days, at Mana Wynwood, 318 NW 23rd St., Miami.

Who is putting it on

Time To Drive is produced by 0260, a company that calls itself the home of enthusiast culture. Its founder is Lex Borrero, and Perri Dash is its head of curation. The festival's curation committee includes Carlos Jimenez, founder of the Miami Watch Club.

The watches

The watch side centers on a Collectors Club for watchmakers. The brands named on the festival's own pages include Chopard, Zenith, Jacob & Co., Grand Seiko, MB&F, Urwerk, Greubel Forsey, Armin Strom, Ulysse Nardin and Oris, with more listed as the weekend approaches. A Luxury Exchange area sits alongside it.

The cars

The car side is split into themed zones. The zones listed by the festival are Icons of Stuttgart, Monte Carlo Experience, Tuner Revolution, Racing and Motorsports, and a World Rally Championship area.

The centerpiece for owners is a German Concours, a judged competition for Porsche, BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars built between 1980 and 2019. Judges score entries on authenticity, provenance, condition, specification and historical significance. Best of Show wins $5,000 and a limited-edition timepiece, and six marque awards carry $500 each. Owners apply to enter, and entry is free, according to the festival.

The Entertainment and Culture Exhibition is curated by Cart Dept., and artist Mark Delmont is scheduled to paint a vintage Mercedes-Benz live during the weekend. The publisher Assouline is planning a live reveal of its book Porsche: The Impossible Collection.

The names on the program

The festival lists Spike Feresten, Larry Chen and Matt Farah among its speakers, along with John Temerian, Eric Wind and Adam Golden. Racing drivers listed among the guests include Felipe Nasr, Patrick Long, Scott Dixon and Alexander Rossi. A few of the talks are sold as paid add-ons on top of admission, according to the FAQ.

Before and after

Two extra events bracket the main weekend. On Friday, Nov. 6, a track day called Driver's Seat runs at The Concours Club for VVIP pass holders only, capped at 150 guests. On Sunday morning, a Cars and Coffee gathering runs from 7 to 10 a.m. for car clubs and VVIP guests before the doors open to everyone. The official afterparty features DJ Walshy Fire of Major Lazer. A food court and bars operate inside the festival.

Tickets

There are four tiers: Full Access for Day One, Full Access for Day Two, a Two-Day Full Access pass, and the Grail VVIP Pass covering Nov. 6 through 8. Tickets are sold at timetodrivefest.com and through the 0260 app, where tickets are stored. All sales are final and there is no re-entry. The festival's FAQ says children under 15 get in free with a ticketed adult.

Getting there

Mana Wynwood is on NW 23rd Street on the north side of Wynwood. Organizers recommend rideshare, and say parking nearby is available with fees possible. The festival's official hotel partner is the JW Marriott Marquis Miami downtown.
