Tradewind Aviation will start a daily, year-round flight between Fort Lauderdale and Nassau on Dec. 10, 2026. Fares start at $299 one way plus taxes and fees, and passengers check in at a private terminal rather than the main airport, with no TSA line.

The flight leaves from the Sheltair FBO at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and lands at Odyssey Aviation at Lynden Pindling International Airport on New Providence Island, the home of Nassau. An FBO is the private aviation side of an airport, the terminal used by charter and private flights.

How the flight works

Tradewind flies Pilatus PC-12 turboprops with two pilots on the flight deck. The cabins are pressurized and air-conditioned, with leather seats, and snacks and drinks are included. Passengers are asked to arrive one hour before departure and hand their luggage directly to the Tradewind crew.

The route runs once a day, seven days a week, through the year. Bookings are open at flytradewind.com and by phone at 203-267-3305.

The rest of the Bahamas schedule from Fort Lauderdale

Nassau joins two Bahamas routes Tradewind already flies from Fort Lauderdale:

  • North Eleuthera: twice daily, year-round, from $329 one way plus taxes and fees.
  • Abaco: three times daily, year-round, from $329 one way plus taxes and fees.

The company also flies the same three Bahamas destinations from Witham Field in Stuart, Thursday through Monday: Nassau once a day from $299, North Eleuthera twice a day from $329 and Abaco three times a day from $329, each one way plus taxes and fees.

Tradewind says its flight offerings across the region have quadrupled since it opened its Southeast base three years ago.

Who runs it

Tradewind was founded in 2001 by brothers Eric and David Zipkin and is based in Oxford, Connecticut. It is marking its 25th year, flies a fleet of more than 36 Pilatus PC-12s, and has bases at Westchester County Airport in New York, Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Puerto Rico and Witham Field in Stuart. Readers of Condé Nast Traveler have included it in the magazine's Readers' Choice Awards for six consecutive years, according to the company.
