South Florida has a World Market again. World Market opened its new Palm Beach Gardens store on Friday, September 25, at Prosperity Centre, 2420 PGA Boulevard. Among the chain's fifteen Florida locations, it is the only one in South Florida, which makes PGA Boulevard the new destination from Jupiter to Homestead for imported snacks, wine, rugs and that one perfect serving bowl.
A return, not just an opening
World Market has billed the Gardens store as its return to the Southeast Florida market. Check the company's Florida store list today and the pattern is clear: Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Pensacola, the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas, Naples, Fort Myers, Sarasota, Melbourne and Daytona Beach, and then nothing between Palm Beach Gardens and the Keys. For shoppers in Broward and Miami-Dade, the nearest store is now this one.
The store opened with a ribbon cutting with Palm Beach Gardens city officials before the doors opened at 9 a.m., and the company planned giveaways, food tastings and festivities through the opening weekend.
The food aisles are the draw
For many fans, World Market is a grocery trip disguised as a furniture store. The Gardens location carries the chain's international food and drink selection: small-batch Italian pasta sauces, French wine, Japanese snacks and British biscuits, along with the coffee, chocolate and seasonal treats the stores rotate through the year. It is the place to build a cheese board, stock a hostess gift basket, or find the candy you remember from a trip abroad. Right now the fall and holiday sections are already up, with a Christmas shop in the mix.
Furniture and decor from around the world
The other half of the store is home goods. World Market sells living room, dining room and outdoor furniture, rugs, lighting, wall decor and mirrors, pillows, kitchen tools and tableware, with pieces sourced from artisans in places like Indonesia, India and Vietnam. The company describes the Gardens showroom as a mix of hand-carved, richly textured pieces and cleaner, Scandinavian-inspired designs. Inventory turns over often, which is half the fun: what is on the floor this month may not be there next month.
A head start on the holidays
The timing is good for anyone with a long gift list. World Market leans hard into the season, and the Gardens store opened with fall merchandise, clearance tables and a Christmas shop already stocked. Between the international candy and cookies, the wine and the tabletop pieces, it is one of the easier places in the county to put together a host gift or a stocking in a single stop. Seasonal items rotate quickly, so the best pieces tend to go early.
Outdoor living, Florida style
South Florida spends half its life on the patio, and outdoor furniture and decor is one of the store's main categories, alongside rugs, lighting and wall decor. For a lanai refresh before winter guests arrive, it is worth a walk through the outdoor section to compare pieces in person rather than from a photo.
Rewards and pickup
World Market runs a free rewards program with a discount for new members, and members currently get 10 percent off orders placed online for store pickup. If you are shopping for furniture, checking the PGA Boulevard store's inventory online first and picking up in person can save a delivery fee and a long wait.
