A new retirement community is on the way in Boynton Beach, and as of this month there is a place to walk in and ask about it. Erickson Senior Living has opened the sales and information center for Ava Lakes at 8355 Boynton Beach Boulevard, Suite E-100.
Ava Lakes is planned as a continuing care retirement community, the kind that pairs independent apartments with health care and services on the same grounds. The company says it expects to welcome its first residents in late 2029.
What is planned
The first phase calls for 273 independent living residences. The amenities Erickson has listed for the community:
- Several indoor and outdoor dining venues
- An outdoor pool and a fitness center
- Indoor and outdoor pickleball courts
- A theater
- An on-site medical center
- A nature preserve with walking paths
Built for hurricane season
Erickson says Ava Lakes is being designed specifically for South Florida, with storm-resiliency features meant to keep residents safe and comfortable through severe weather. Backup power is part of that plan, so the community can keep running during an outage.
Who is behind it
Erickson Senior Living serves more than 33,000 residents across the country. Ava Lakes will be the third community it manages in Florida, after Siena Lakes in Naples and Emerson Lakes, which is opening soon in Lakewood Ranch. The company has said it plans to invest as much as $1 billion a year in new and existing communities over the next several years, and Ava Lakes is part of that national expansion.
What the sales center is for
With move-ins about three years out, the center is where prospective residents can learn about the floor plans, the amenities, the services and what daily life at Ava Lakes is planned to look like.
