Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion opens its 40th anniversary season on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 8 p.m. at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center with Timeless Harmonies, a concert built around a world premiere by Grammy-nominated composer Adam Schoenberg. Reserved seats are $45 to $55, VIP seating is $70, and student tickets are $5.

The new work will be performed by pianists Glen Inanga and Rebeca Omordia, joined by the Amernet String Quartet and guest bassist Paola Garcia. The rest of the program is devoted to the music of Black classical composers. The concert is part of Dranoff's Classical Classics series, which presents repertoire written and arranged for two pianos, both in recital and with other musicians.

The performers

The Amernet String Quartet is the season's featured ensemble. It is the ensemble in residence at Florida International University in Miami, and it was formed at the Juilliard School. The quartet won the gold medal at the Tokyo International Music Competition and first prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition. Its members are violinists Misha Vitenson and Avi Nagin, violist Michael Klotz and cellist Jason Calloway.

Forty years of two pianos in Miami

Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion is a nonprofit music and education organization based in Miami. It traces back to Loretta Dranoff, a New York native who performed for decades in a two-piano team with her husband, Murray, as Steinway and Columbia artists. After the couple moved to South Florida in 1973, she worked in the Miami-Dade public schools, where she started the district's first multiple-instrument programs and student recitals. In Murray's memory, she created an international competition in Miami devoted only to piano duos, which has been held since 1987. Over the years the organization has commissioned new works from composers including Morton Gould, John Corigliano and William Bolcom.

Today the group presents concerts, classroom programs and free community performances across Miami-Dade. Its Piano Slam program, now in its 18th year, pairs six months of classroom residencies with a countywide student poetry competition performed with two pianos.
