National team tennis comes back to downtown Delray Beach this month. The United States plays Hungary in a Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Playoff at the Delray Beach Tennis Center on Saturday, Nov. 21, and Sunday, Nov. 22, with play starting at 1:30 p.m. both days.
The USTA named its five players on Oct. 21, and the list starts with Coco Gauff, a two-time Grand Slam singles champion ranked No. 5 in the world in singles. She is joined by Madison Keys, the 2025 Australian Open singles champion and world No. 21; Ann Li, ranked No. 25 in singles and picked for the Billie Jean King Cup for the first time; Taylor Townsend, a four-time Grand Slam doubles champion ranked No. 2 in doubles; and Nicole Melichar-Martinez, No. 9 in doubles.
Who is on the other side of the net
Hungary has nominated Ana Bondar, Dalma Galfi and Amarissa Toth for singles and Fanny Stollar and Adrienn Nagy for doubles. Kornel Bardoczky captains Hungary. The U.S. team is captained by Lindsay Davenport, the International Tennis Hall of Famer who led the Americans to the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup final.
Either captain can still make up to three changes to the nominated roster through Nov. 20, so the final lineups are set the day before the first ball is struck.
How the weekend works
The tie is a best-of-five series. Saturday brings two singles matches between each country's top two nominated players. Sunday opens with a doubles match and then two more singles matches. The first country to win three matches takes the Playoff, which means Sunday's schedule can change if one side clinches early.
The stakes run into next season. The winner moves back into the Qualifying pool and keeps a path to compete for the Billie Jean King Cup title in 2027. For fans who cannot get downtown, Tennis Channel carries both days in the United States.
The U.S. record in Delray Beach
The U.S. women have played at the Delray Beach Tennis Center four times and won all four. The most recent was in 2023, when Gauff and Jessica Pegula led a 4-0 sweep of Austria on the same courts. The USTA also points to the economic side of these weekends: a 2025 Davis Cup qualifying tie between the United States and Czechia in Delray Beach brought more than $2 million into the local economy, by the federation's count.
Gauff has talked about what a Delray Beach home tie means to her before. When the city hosted in 2023, the USTA described it as a hometown event for her.
Tickets and getting there
Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster. A two-day package is $50, and a single-day ticket for either Saturday or Sunday is $35. The Delray Beach Tennis Center is at 201 W. Atlantic Ave., downtown, and gates open at noon both days. Downtown Delray Beach lists the weekend on its events page.
Matches begin at 1:30 p.m., and full details and ticket links are on the USTA's Billie Jean King Cup announcement.
