Fuku, the fried chicken restaurant at 135 Miracle Mile, is serving a limited-edition sandwich made with Peter Luger Steak House, and it stays on the menu from October 9 through the end of 2026. Fuku calls it the Steakhouse Chicken Sando.

The sandwich starts with Fuku's crispy fried chicken and adds Peter Luger thick-cut bacon and Peter Luger steak sauce, with shallots and white onion (the restaurant's description lists the shallots as a shallot jam), all on a potato roll. Fuku describes it as a New York City sandwich with a Miami twist.

Two restaurants, one sandwich

Peter Luger Steak House is a family-owned steakhouse that has been serving New York since 1887. Its flagship is in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and it also operates in Tokyo and Las Vegas. The steakhouse is known for USDA Prime beef that it dry-ages and butchers in-house, along with its extra-thick-cut bacon and its bottled steak sauce, the two ingredients that carry over into the Fuku sandwich. Peter Luger also ships its classic items nationwide through its Butcher Shop.

Fuku began as an off-menu item at chef David Chang's Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York, where the chicken sandwich was first made for the kitchen staff. It became its own restaurant in the East Village in 2015. The Coral Gables location on Miracle Mile is one of two Fuku restaurants in Florida; the other is at 407 S. Rosemary Ave. in West Palm Beach. Fuku also sells its food at stadiums and arenas around the country, including Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

What else is on the Fuku menu

The Peter Luger sandwich joins Fuku's regular lineup, which the restaurant serves spicy, mild, or with an Impossible plant-based filet:

  • O.G.: crispy brined chicken, Fuku Mayo and pickles on a butter-toasted potato roll
  • Sweet and Spicy: crispy brined chicken with a sweet and spicy glaze, pickled daikon and Fuku Crunch
  • Miso Ranch and Slaw: crispy brined chicken, rice vinegar slaw and miso scallion ranch
  • Chicken Burger: a chicken patty with griddled onions, American cheese, pickles and Fuku Mayo

The menu also includes chicken tenders, a chicken gem salad, a chicken rice bowl, waffle fries and loaded party fries.

Fuku is pairing the sandwich with a loyalty promotion: guests who sign up for the Fuku loyalty program can enter to win Fuku x Peter Luger merchandise. Sign-up is on the Fuku website.
