The Coral Springs Police Department opens its holiday toy drive on Monday, Nov. 16, and will collect new, unwrapped toys through Monday, Dec. 14. The toys go to children in need across the community.

Donations are taken at six places around the city, from the police station lobby and City Hall to four restaurants on Sample Road and University Drive.

Where to drop off a toy

  • Coral Springs Police Department lobby, 2801 Coral Springs Drive
  • Coral Springs City Hall, 9500 W. Sample Road
  • Wings Plus, 9880 W. Sample Road
  • Wings Plus, 1235 N. University Drive
  • Chick-fil-A, 1341 N. University Drive
  • Runyon's, 9810 W. Sample Road

Collection runs at all six spots for the full four weeks, from Nov. 16 through Dec. 14.

What to give

The department asks for new toys, left unwrapped so volunteers can sort them by age. Its list of suggestions covers a wide range of ages, from small children to teenagers:

  • Sports and outdoor gear
  • Action figures and baby dolls
  • Legos
  • Board games
  • Bluetooth speakers
  • Headphones
  • Skin care and grooming sets

What the drive cannot take

The police department will not accept used stuffed animals, used toys of any kind, or toy guns. Anything dropped off should be new and still in its packaging.
