Ninety vendors selling and trading Pokémon, Lorcana and One Piece cards, comics, sports cards and other collectibles will fill the basketball court at the Doral Central Park Community Center on Sunday, November 22, when the City of Doral hosts Central Card Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, and so is parking.

The one-day show is run by the city as a free community event, open to longtime collectors and to people who have never opened a booster pack. The city's listing describes a day built around three things: collecting, buying and trading.

What will be on the tables

The vendor lineup spans the card games that have pulled in a wide range of ages over the past few years. Pokémon, the long-running trading card game that remains a staple at hobby shops, sits on the list beside Disney Lorcana, which uses Disney characters, and the One Piece Card Game, which draws on the Japanese manga and anime series of the same name. Sports cards and comic books round out the list, along with a broader mix of collectibles.

With 90 vendors on one court, the show gives collectors a chance to compare prices and condition across many sellers in a single afternoon, and to fill gaps in a set without shipping costs or the guesswork of buying a card from a photo. Families with younger players can browse at their own pace, and newcomers can see the different games side by side before deciding where to start.

Tickets and getting in

No ticket is needed to walk in. The city does ask visitors to register on Eventbrite ahead of time, which it uses to estimate the crowd and plan future shows. Registration is free and is linked from the event page on cityofdoral.com.

Parking is free in the lots around the community center. The main entrance to Doral Central Park is on NW 92nd Avenue. Questions about the show can go to the city's event contact at [email protected].

About the park

Doral Central Park covers 78 acres at 3005 NW 92nd Avenue and holds the city's aquatic, athletic, cultural and recreational facilities in one campus. In August, the city announced that the park had earned Gold certification from the Florida Green Building Coalition, scoring 161 points against the 105 required. The city says it is the first civic and recreational campus in Doral to reach that level.

Two more free dates in Doral this month

The card show is one of several free city events on the November calendar. Two others are worth putting on the list now.

Veterans Day Ceremony, Wednesday, November 11. The city will honor people who have served or are serving in the military with tributes and live music at Veterans Park, 10190 NW 33rd Street, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Admission is free. Parking at the park is limited, so the city has arranged free parking at the Aloft Hotel, with a free shuttle to the park starting at 8:30 a.m. The city recommends arriving early.

An Evening of Ballet with Miami City Ballet, Saturday, November 14. Dancers from the Miami City Ballet Pre-Professional Division will perform two pieces, Rita Finds Home and Ballet Classics, at the Doral Central Park Amphitheater, and the evening also includes an interactive group dance class open to the audience. The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m., is free and open to the public, and registration is through the city's Eventbrite page. Questions go to [email protected].
