Downtown at the Gardens fills with pop-up galleries this weekend for the second Downtown Palm Beach Gardens Art Festival. The free, two-day show runs Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8, at 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave., across from The Gardens Mall, and on Saturday it stays open until 8 p.m.
What is on the lawn
Howard Alan Events, which produces the show, describes thousands of works for sale in temporary galleries set up through the center: life-size sculpture, paintings, handcrafted fine jewelry, glasswork and photography. The artists work their own booths, so a buyer can ask the person who made a piece how it was made and what it was meant to say.
The producer, which calls itself the largest art festival producer in the country, publishes the full exhibitor list for this show on its website, which is the way to check ahead whether a painter or jeweler you follow will be there.
Two different days
The hours are not the same both days:
- Saturday, Nov. 7: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 8: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Saturday evening hours mean the show runs into dinnertime at Downtown at the Gardens, which has its own restaurants. Sunday opens an hour earlier for anyone who wants the first look before the afternoon crowd.
Where it is
Downtown at the Gardens sits in the center of Palm Beach Gardens off Alternate A1A, near The Gardens Mall. The festival is in its second year at the center.
