The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach fills its first full week of November with opera, film and books, and most of it costs $30 or less. Several of this week's screenings are at Palm Beach Day Academy, 241 Seaview Ave., rather than on the Four Arts campus, so check the address on each ticket. Here is the lineup for Nov. 2 to 7.

A Passion for Opera, starting Monday, Nov. 2

Soprano, music critic and humor writer Ariane Csonka Comstock opens her A Passion for Opera course on Monday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Dixon Education Building, 240 Cocoanut Row. The first session is eight Mondays: Nov. 2 and 9, Dec. 7 and 14, and Jan. 4, 11 and 25 and Feb. 1. The course looks at opera through its sources in literature, stage and costume design, language, history and politics, with excerpts from past performances and discussion of current productions. Beginners are welcome. The eight classes cost $175 together.

The Names, Wednesday, Nov. 4

The King Library holds a free book discussion of The Names at 1:30 p.m. at 101 Four Arts Plaza, with a Zoom option. The novel follows three versions of one life, each set in motion by a single decision, and the story of one family across them. Michelle Ritter, a banker in J.P. Morgan Private Bank's Palm Beach office, leads the talk. Reservations are required: call (561) 655-2766 or email [email protected].

The Cycle of Love, Friday, Nov. 6

The Friday Films series shows The Cycle of Love at 5:30 p.m. at Palm Beach Day Academy. The 2025 documentary from director Orlando von Einsiedel follows PK Mahanandia, a street artist in Delhi who set out in 1977 on a 6,000-mile bicycle trip across continents to reach the woman he loved. It runs 1 hour and 38 minutes. Tickets are $10, and Four Arts members get in at no charge.

Così fan tutte, Saturday, Nov. 7

The Metropolitan Opera's Così fan tutte screens at 1 p.m. at Palm Beach Day Academy as part of the Met's Live in HD series. This is an encore of a previously recorded performance. Mozart's comedy, with a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, is staged by director Phelim McDermott in a 1950s Coney Island amusement park, with the two pairs of lovers moving from one boardwalk ride to the next. The screening runs 3 hours and 57 minutes with one intermission, and doors open an hour early. Tickets are $30, $25 for Four Arts members and $15 for students with ID.
