Snarky Puppy is booked for full sets every night when the GroundUP Music Festival returns to the Miami Beach Bandshell in North Beach, March 12 to 14, 2027. The festival has posted its first round of artists and put tickets on sale, with more names still to come.

GroundUP was founded in 2017 by Paul Lehr, a Miami arts veteran who serves as the festival's CEO, and Michael League, Snarky Puppy's bandleader and the festival's artistic director. The festival stages its main sets at the Bandshell at 7275 Collins Ave., on the ocean side of Collins Avenue.

Who is playing

Beyond Snarky Puppy's nightly full sets, the band will also host its Family Dinner sessions every night, the format in which it brings special guests on stage to play with them. The artists announced so far:

  • Gretchen Parlato and Lionel Loueke
  • DOMi and JD Beck
  • Lau Noah
  • Victoria Canal
  • Charlie Hunter and Ella Feingold
  • The Rumble, featuring Big Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr.

The festival's site says more artists will be announced. The lineup spans jazz, soul, singer-songwriters and New Orleans music. The festival describes itself as mixing genres on purpose, and it runs oceanfront workshops alongside the main stage.

How the weekend is laid out

Friday, March 12 is the GroundUP Foundation Benefit, a tax-deductible evening run by the festival's nonprofit. Ticket holders eat and drink with the artists, hear intimate sets by Snarky Puppy and others, and get into the bands' closed rehearsals during the day. The time and location are still to be announced, and the festival is selling only 150 benefit tickets.

Saturday, March 13 runs at the Bandshell from about 1 to 11 p.m.

Sunday, March 14 runs from about noon to 10 p.m.

After the Bandshell closes each night, the music moves to Late Night Jams at a location still to be announced, starting around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
