Havana Harry's reopened its doors at 4612 South Le Jeune Road in Coral Gables at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 19, ending a closure of more than a year. The Cuban restaurant, which first opened in Coral Gables in 1995, came back with a redesigned dining room and a menu built around the same recipes it served before it closed.
A Long Road Back
The restaurant signaled its return in stages on its own website. A post in August 2025 told guests a comeback was in the works, a second post on October 2, 2026, laid out the renovation and the dishes that would return, and a third on October 17 set the date and time for reopening day.
According to the restaurant, the work went beyond the dining room and included updates throughout the building. The refreshed space now has green leather booths, plants throughout, mosaic tile details and artwork drawn from Cuban themes.
What Is on the Menu
The full menu posted on the restaurant's website, dated October 2026, runs to more than a dozen pages and covers breakfast, lunch specials, Cuban classics, international plates and desserts. The restaurant has singled out its Chicken Vaca Frita, shredded chicken seared with onions and garlic until crisp and finished with mojo, which appears on the menu as the original chicken vaca frita at $17.95.
Other Cuban staples on the current menu include Ropa Vieja, shredded beef slow cooked with onions and peppers in red wine and tomato, at $18.95 as an entree; the beef Vaca Frita at $19.95; and Arroz con Pollo, yellow rice cooked with chicken, red peppers and onions, at $16.95. The Cuban Sandwich, with ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles pressed on Cuban bread, is listed at $13.95. Croquettes are $1.95 each in chicken, chorizo or ham, and empanadas are $2.95 each.
Coffee drinks follow the Miami ventanita lineup: a Cubano is $2.95, a cortadito or colada is $3.50, and a cafe con leche is $4.95. Breakfast is served with omelets and Cuban breakfast sandwiches, and the menu notes an added $1.50 charge for breakfast ordered after 11 a.m. On the dessert side, a classic Cuban flan in its own caramel is $5.95, and the restaurant's Overdose milkshakes, such as a Nutella shake topped with a brownie and ice cream, are $14.95. Menu prices are the restaurant's own and can change, so check the current menu before you go.
The menu also notes that a 20 percent service charge is added for parties of six or more.
Opening Week Offers
To mark the return, Havana Harry's offered one complimentary item with a meal from October 19 through October 26, with guests choosing a mojito, a Cuban style tamal, a dulce de leche flan or a Cuban coffee. On opening day, the first 50 guests received a $20 gift card for a later visit. Both offers were limited to the opening period and while supplies lasted, so they have now ended.
