Homestead will mark Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, with a full day downtown that the city calls Homestead Salutes: a morning ceremony, the 65th annual Veterans Day Parade, an afternoon picnic in Losner Park and a youth symphony concert at the Seminole Theatre. The schedule is posted on the City of Homestead calendar, which lists the celebration running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This year's parade is the 65th, and the whole day stays in downtown Homestead along Krome Avenue, where Losner Park and the Seminole Theatre sit about a block apart.
The Schedule, Hour by Hour
The city's listing breaks the day into four parts, and they are close enough together that a family can do all of them on foot.
11 a.m., Veterans Celebration Ceremony. The day opens at Losner Park, 104 N. Krome Avenue, the green space at the center of downtown Homestead.
Noon to 2 p.m., 65th Annual Veterans Day Parade. The parade follows the ceremony and fills the early afternoon. The city's calendar lists the event address as 104 N. Krome Avenue, so the downtown blocks around Losner Park are the place to find a spot along the curb.
2 to 5 p.m., Homestead Salutes Hometown Picnic. After the parade the crowd moves back into Losner Park for a community picnic that runs through the rest of the afternoon.
4 to 5 p.m., South Florida Youth Symphony Veterans Day Concert. The day closes indoors at the Seminole Theatre, 18 N. Krome Avenue, where the South Florida Youth Symphony performs a Veterans Day concert. The concert overlaps the last hour of the picnic, so plan to head over a little before 4 p.m. if seats matter to you.
About the Seminole Theatre
The concert venue carries its own piece of Homestead history. According to the Seminole Theatre, the theater first opened on November 26, 1921, as a cinema showing silent films, and it quickly became a gathering place for entertainment in South Dade and the upper Keys. Today it hosts concerts, comedy and touring shows on Krome Avenue, a block from Losner Park. The box office can be reached at 786-650-2073.
Four Ways to Take Part
The format gives veterans and their families several ways into the day: a formal tribute in the morning, the parade at midday, a shared meal in the park through the afternoon and an hour of live orchestral music to close. Each part can be attended on its own, so someone who cannot make the 11 a.m. ceremony can still catch the parade or the evening concert.
Planning Your Visit
Veterans Day falls on a Wednesday this year, so expect a midweek crowd and allow extra time for parking downtown before the 11 a.m. ceremony and the noon parade. The city's listing notes that one or more council members may be in attendance. The listing does not post an admission price for the picnic or the concert, so check the city calendar or call City Hall at 305-224-4400 for details on any of the four parts of the day.
Bring sun protection and water for the parade, since the noon to 2 p.m. window is the warmest part of the day, and keep an eye on the city calendar entry for any schedule changes before November 11.
