INK Miami, the Art Week fair built around prints and works on paper, returns to Miami Beach from Wednesday, Dec. 2, through Sunday, Dec. 6, for its 20th year. The fair is again at the Suites of Dorchester, 1850 Collins Avenue, where the hotel's suites are turned into gallery rooms around an open-air courtyard. Admission is free, with registration online.
What it shows
INK is a works-on-paper fair: prints, drawings and new print editions rather than painting or sculpture. The fair describes its 20th edition as a mix of 20th-century masterworks and newly published editions by contemporary artists, shown by the publishers, print workshops and galleries that make and sell them. It counts curators and collectors among its regular visitors, and because each exhibitor works out of a hotel suite, visitors move from room to room rather than down convention-hall aisles.
INK runs during Miami Art Week as one of the week's satellite fairs.
Two events on the calendar
The fair opens with a brunch on Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon. On Thursday, Dec. 3, it hosts its Pulp Party from 7 to 9 p.m.
INK lists its sponsors as the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority, Printed Editions, AXA, Christie's, CultureOwl, Flecha Azul Tequila and Legion Paper.
