Kodiak Fitness Center is open in Coral Springs at 2101 N. University Drive, its first gym in Broward County. The company already runs two gyms on Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach, Kodiak Fitness Center at 17050 Collins and Kodiak Gold at 18260 Collins, plus a location in Canning, outside Buenos Aires.

The Coral Springs gym is open seven days a week and is offering a free day pass with no commitment, so a resident can walk the floor and try the equipment before deciding on a membership.

What is on the floor

The gym puts several things under one roof that are usually spread across a boxing club, a Pilates studio and a recovery spa. According to Kodiak's Coral Springs site, the space includes:

  • A 16-by-16-foot boxing ring
  • A functional training area
  • A reformer Pilates area
  • Space set up for HYROX, the indoor fitness race that mixes running with workout stations
  • A dedicated glute training zone
  • A posing room for physique and bodybuilding competitors
  • More than 150 pieces of equipment

Recovery and the shop

Past the training floor, Kodiak has a recovery area with an infrared sauna and compression therapy. The gym also runs The Muscle Shop, which sells supplements and apparel and offers InBody body composition scans, so members can track muscle and body fat over time rather than relying on a bathroom scale.
