North Miami's centennial year moves into November with a run of free city events over the first three weeks of the month: the NoMi Night Market on November 6 and 20, a Fall Gardening Expo at the public library on November 7, a Veterans Day breakfast on November 11 and the monthly Get in Gear community bike ride on November 14. All four are listed on the City of North Miami calendar.
The city was incorporated on February 5, 1926, and has been marking its 100th year with events throughout 2026. According to the city, the anniversary theme is being worked into its regular traditions for the rest of the year, ahead of a centennial gala on December 5.
NoMi Night Market, November 6 and 20
The NoMi Night Market sets up at MOCA Plaza, 770 NE 125th Street, on the first and third Friday of each month. In November that means Friday, November 6, from 5 to 9 p.m., and again on Friday, November 20. The market brings food trucks and local vendors to the plaza for a family evening.
Fall 2026 Gardening Expo, November 7
On Saturday, November 7, the Fall 2026 Gardening Expo runs from 10 a.m. to noon at the North Miami Public Library, 835 NE 132nd Street. A Master Gardener will lead the morning with gardening information, and the library lists the phone number 305-891-5535 for questions.
The same afternoon, the library's Silent Book Club meets from 2 to 4 p.m.
Veterans Day Breakfast, November 11
The city will host a Veterans Day Breakfast on Wednesday, November 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Scott Galvin Community Center, 1600 NE 126th Street. The program includes breakfast, recognition of veterans and raffle prizes. Seating is limited and the city asks guests to RSVP; the listed contact number is 305-895-9840.
City offices will be closed that day in observance of the holiday.
Get in Gear Community Bike Ride, November 14
The city's Get in Gear Community Bike Ride takes place on the second Saturday of each month. On Saturday, November 14, registration opens at 8 a.m. at MOCA Plaza, and the group departs at 8:30 a.m. The round trip covers roughly 10 miles through North Miami in about 90 minutes, with a police escort and stops for water and restrooms along the way.
Riders need to bring their own bicycles. Helmets are required for participants 16 and under and are recommended for everyone else.
Later in the Centennial Season
Beyond the first three weeks of the month, the city's calendar lists the 51st Annual WinterNational Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 26, at 10 a.m. The centennial page also sells a commemorative coin at the City Hall cashier's window, 776 NE 125th Street, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while supplies last. Prices run from $11 for the coin alone to $13 for the coin with a pouch and stand.
How to Plan Ahead
Each event has its own page on the city calendar with location details and contact numbers, and residents can sign up for the city's Notify Me alerts there to hear about schedule changes. For the Veterans Day breakfast, reserving a seat early is the main step, since space is limited. General questions can go to City Hall at 305-893-6511.
