A bus with showers in it parks at the E. Pat Larkins Center in Pompano Beach on Thursday morning, Nov. 5, the first stop of a new service from the City of Pompano Beach. The Shower Bus offers free hot showers to anyone experiencing homelessness, hardship or a lack of access to a place to wash, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 520 NW 3rd St. The city plans to bring it back on the first Thursday of every month.
Who runs it
The city is partnering with Showering Love, a South Florida nonprofit founded in 2016 to restore dignity and self-esteem to people living without a home. According to the city, the group has provided more than 70,000 showers along with other support services since it started.
The city has timed the stop to run during Community Court at the Larkins Center, so the showers are available the same morning and in the same building.
The schedule
- First stop: Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Next expected stop: Thursday, Dec. 3, 2026.
- After that: the first Thursday of each month.
The city asks people to confirm each date on its Shower Bus events page before going, since the schedule can shift.
