The boat barn that stood on PGA Boulevard at the Intracoastal for more than half a century came down in March 2025. What replaces it opens next month. PORT 32 Marinas says its rebuilt marina at 2385 PGA Blvd., the former PGA Marina, will open in December as PORT 32 Palm Beach Gardens, and it has named the team that will run it.
What was built
The $80 million project is a ground-up rebuild. Three new buildings went up on the site: two 83-foot buildings for boat storage, showrooms and offices, 37 feet taller than the barn they replace, and a smaller, 5,000-square-foot ship's store with fuel docks where boats can tie up alongside. All three topped out in June.
- 471 slips: 451 fully enclosed dry storage slips and 20 wet slips, 57 more dry slips than before.
- Dry storage takes boats up to 60 feet long and 22 feet high. The wet slips are for boats from 50 to 100 feet.
- The storage building is engineered for winds up to 180 mph. PORT 32 says that makes it the only Category 5 hurricane-rated marina in Palm Beach County.
- Forklifts with a 75,000-pound lifting capacity, which the company says are the largest marina forklifts in the country.
How it works for a boater
The marina runs as valet storage. A member books ahead, the staff puts the boat in the water fueled, with ice and drinks if ordered, and after the trip the crew washes it down, flushes the engine and puts it back inside. Members will be able to order ahead through an app. The site also has a ship store, REC-90 ethanol-free gas and diesel, on-site service, a members-only workspace, transient dockage, EV charging and around 31,000 square feet of space for marine businesses and boat sales. Gulfstream Boat Club, PORT 32's in-house boat club, is based there.
It sits between the Jupiter and Palm Beach inlets, next to the River House restaurant, about 56 nautical miles from the Bahamas.
Who is running it
On Nov. 3, PORT 32 named Matt Domke general manager. He has run the company's Fort Lauderdale marina and started in the marine business in 1989. Linda Pfeifer joins as member advisor and leasing specialist. The Palm Beach Gardens site is the flagship of PORT 32, a South Carolina company that operates marinas across Florida and the Southeast, and it is expected to have the largest staff of any of them.
