Skates go back on downtown West Palm Beach's waterfront today. Winter Wonderland at The Ben, the outdoor ice rink at The Ben, Autograph Collection on North Narcissus Avenue, opens for its third season on Sunday, Nov. 1, and stays open through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2027.

The hotel says the rink drew more than 30,000 skaters last season, and it has been built larger this year, with the Intracoastal Waterway behind it. The ice is real frozen water, not a synthetic skating surface. The Ben says it built the rink with the rink company Ice America.

What a skate costs

Tickets are sold by session through The Ben's events site. An adult pass, for ages 12 and up, is $30 plus tax. A kids pass, for ages 4 through 11, is $15 plus tax. Both include skate rental and are good for one public skate time during the season. Skating is open to children 4 and older, and the hotel notes that blackout dates can apply for private events and holidays, so it is worth checking the calendar before promising a specific evening.

Downtown West Palm Beach's event listing shows the rink running from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on its opening days.

Story time on the ice

For younger skaters, The Ben is pairing the rink with a Percy Penguin Storytime Experience. Each $35 ticket covers an interactive story time, a guided craft, one Percy Penguin book for each participating child and admission to skate afterward. Sessions are listed for Friday, Nov. 20, from 5 to 6 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 6, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; and Friday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 6 p.m.

The hotel's events calendar also lists A Night at The Ben with Palm Beach Food & Wine on Saturday, Dec. 12, as part of the holiday season on the property.
