Boca Raton's first week of November runs from the mangroves at Gumbo Limbo to the downtown green at Sanborn Square to the stage at Mizner Park. Here is what the city and the venues have on the calendar from Sunday, Nov. 1, through Saturday, Nov. 7.

Sunday, Nov. 1: Snorkel the mangroves at Gumbo Limbo

The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center runs its Intracoastal Adventures family snorkel from 10 to 11:30 a.m., in the shallow Intracoastal water along the center's mangrove habitat. Families bring their own mask, snorkel and water shoes. Fins are not allowed, and the center provides life jackets, which everyone in the water must wear. Details and registration are on the city's event listing.

The same morning, Gumbo Limbo holds Nature Connections, one of its free weekend talks, from 11:30 a.m. to noon: a short presentation on Florida's native plants and animals. The nature center and aquariums are open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and noon to 4 p.m. on Mondays, and the trail, boardwalk and tower are open daily from 7 a.m. to sunset. The center is at 1801 N. Ocean Blvd.

Sunday, Nov. 1: Veggie-stamp tote bags at the Explorium

Inland at Sugar Sand Park, the Children's Science Explorium holds a Make & Take session from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., where kids print tote bags using vegetables as stamps. The Explorium is at 300 S. Military Trail.

Thursday, Nov. 5: The Night Market at Sanborn Square

The city's monthly Night Market fills Sanborn Square, 72 N. Federal Highway, from 6 to 9 p.m. It is a market of local makers and small food producers, and the vendor list the city has posted for November runs from jewelry, candles, skincare and soap to granola, sauces, jams, teas, vanilla extracts and chocolate, plus plants, hats, leather bags, clothing and sandals.

Parking downtown is the usual question, and the city's answer is a free ride: its BocaConnect shuttle will bring people to the market, booked through the Circuit app. After November, the market returns Thursday, Dec. 10.

Saturday, Nov. 7: Tequila Fest at Mizner Park Amphitheater

Tequila Fest takes over the Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real, on Saturday. The city lists VIP entry from 4 to 8 p.m. and general admission from 5 to 8 p.m., and tickets are required. The event's ticketing page lists a Grand Tasting ticket at $75 before tax and fees, with food included, and the tickets are nonrefundable.

Coming up next

The week after brings the city's Red, White & Boca Veterans Day celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the amphitheater, and a drive-through e-waste and shredding event on Saturday, Nov. 14. The city's Holiday Tree Lighting follows on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Mizner Park Amphitheater, free, with live music and food vendors.
