Plantation's calendar for the next two weeks starts tonight with a free concert at Pine Island Park and runs through a free outdoor movie on Nov. 18. Most of it costs nothing, and almost all of it happens in the city's parks. Here is what is on, with the details from the city.

Tonight: PUMP opens Rock the Park's new season

The 2026-27 Rock the Park series starts Friday, Nov. 6, with PUMP, a pop rock party band, at Pine Island Park, 320 S. Pine Island Road. Food trucks start serving at 6 p.m., and the music runs from 7 to 10 p.m. The series is free and runs on the first Friday or select Saturdays of each month from November through May. No dogs are allowed.

This month and next, the concerts double as collection points for the city's Harvest Drive. The city's list of needed items includes cereal and oatmeal, powdered milk, mac and cheese, soup, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, cookies and crackers, canned tuna or chicken, pasta, rice, and pasta sauce in cans or plastic containers (no glass jars).

Saturday, Nov. 7: yoga and the farmers market

Free Yoga in the Park meets every Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. under the shade at Jim Ward Park, 301 NW 46th Ave. No registration is needed; bring a mat and water. Information is at 954-452-2510.

The same morning, the year-round Plantation Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Volunteer Park, 12050 W. Sunrise Blvd. Vendors sell certified organic and conventional produce, local honey, homemade hummus, plants and orchids, cut flowers, breads and Danishes, olive oils, cheeses, dips and spreads.

Wednesday, Nov. 11: the Veterans Day service

The city's Veterans Day service is at 9:30 a.m. at Plantation Veterans Park, 1776 Lauderdale West Drive, with elected officials and local dignitaries honoring the city's veterans. It runs about an hour and will also be livestreamed on the city's Facebook page. That evening, and every Wednesday, the city's Wednesday Food Trucks gathering starts at 5 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 15: a sound bath

Sound Bath Healing meets on the third Sunday of each month from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Jim Ward Community Center, 301 NW 46th Ave. An instructor uses crystal sound bowls and other instruments to guide the group into a meditative state while participants sit or lie down. Bring a yoga mat, blankets or pillows for support, and water. The class is canceled if rain is expected; for updates, text your email address to 954-682-0367 with the words YOGA UPDATE.
